Our firm primarily serves financial services and other licensed professionals. Most of our firm’s cases include litigation and transactional matters in the areas of securities/regulatory compliance, employment related claims, and complex business litigation.
 
The ideal candidate would possess the following professional qualities and interpersonal skills:


  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a law firm

[Seeking Associate Candidates]
 
Our firm seeks an attorney with a minimum of five (5) years experience as a practicing lawyer.
 
The ideal candidate will have a combination of litigation and transactional experience and be ready on day one to advise our clients regarding securities regulations, rules, and policies. The candidate will provide legal advice to our well-established client base of financial services firms and licensed professionals on challenging and complex business transactional matters, securities litigation, regulatory defense; and time sensitive strategic advice for terminating employment relationships or onboarding new workers. A significant part of our practice is dedicated to regulatory guidance; defense of regulatory enforcement actions; drafting, negotiating, and litigating business contracts; best practices guidance for risk management; analysis of rules / regulatory amendments; and assessment and reporting of amendments to laws and regulations that impact our clients’ business policies and operating procedures.
 
We offer a flexible and remote (virtual) and physical office in Portland, Oregon, and a generous benefits package including medical, vision, dental, and 401(k) matching contributions.
 
Required Qualifications
 
  • 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Active State Bar membership

  • Excellent writing skills, with superb attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired Qualifications / Relevant Experience
 
  • Managed state and federal securities matters, including regulatory and litigation cases
  • Advised management, small business owners, and highly compensated workers regarding employment law matters, including best practices advice and litigation avoidance
  • Drafted/negotiated general business contracts, including asset purchase agreements, stock purchase agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and licensing agreements
  • Relevant commercial litigation, including business torts
  • Prior (non-legal) financial industry business/education experience
  • Passion for delivering excellent client service
  • Love of the Pacific Northwest and its businesses and people
  • Progressive “out of box” thinker with entrepreneurial spirit
